Shuttle, taxi or private transfer: which one is worth it
The three options are priced on different units, which is why comparing them at face value goes wrong.
The three ways out of Antalya Airport are not priced the same way, and that is the whole problem. A shuttle sells you a seat. A taxi sells you a meter. A private transfer sells you a vehicle. Comparing the headline numbers tells you almost nothing until you convert them to the same unit.
Convert everything to a per-group price
Take the private transfer price for your destination and divide it by the number of people travelling. That is your per-person figure. Now compare it with the per-person shuttle price you have been quoted. For a couple the shuttle usually still wins on price; from three people upwards the gap narrows fast, and with luggage it often closes entirely.

The prices above are for the whole car. Divide by four and the arithmetic for a family becomes obvious.
What the shuttle actually costs you
- Time. A shared vehicle fills up before it leaves and drops other passengers before you. On a long route this can add well over an hour to a journey that is already long.
- Fixed departures. If your flight lands outside the schedule, you wait for the next run.
- Luggage limits. A seat comes with a luggage allowance. Extra cases are charged or refused.
- Drop-off point. Some services stop at a hub rather than your hotel door.
Where the taxi sits
A metered taxi is the flexible option and the least predictable one. You do not know the final figure until you arrive, the meter keeps running in traffic, and for the long eastern and western routes the total can exceed a pre-agreed private transfer. For short hops into the city or Lara it is perfectly reasonable.
Whatever you choose, agree the price before the vehicle moves. A number confirmed in writing is worth more than a friendly nod at the terminal door.
A simple rule
- One or two people, light luggage, short distance: a shuttle or taxi is usually fine.
- Three or more, or any amount of luggage, or a late arrival: a private vehicle is normally both cheaper per head and considerably less trouble.
- Long routes past Alanya, Kaş or Kalkan: always agree a fixed price in advance, whichever option you take.
